My name is Lisa Hayes. I am originally from Shiprock, NM. I started working with West Las Vegas Head Start/Early Head Start in August 2022. My responsibilities include developing, implementing, and monitoring mental health and disability services within Head Start and Early Head Start programs. Also, I am responsible for processing referrals and tracking the service provided for children with suspected and identified disabilities. My educational background and qualifications include a Master of Arts in Guidance & Counseling emphasis in Professional and School Counseling, which I obtained at NMHU.   

My daughter and granddaughter are products of Head Start, and I believe in the program's impact because I have witnessed it firsthand. Being able to work with children with disabilities is rewarding, knowing that I am helping make a difference. I feel I am impacting their lives by giving them the tools and resources to learn according to their learning style. I like working with children and enjoy relationships with their parents, grandparents, and the community. I am doing this because my heart is in the children's interest and what’s best in their interest.
