Teacher Early Head Start

Hello! My name is Adela Montoya, happily married to my husband. I was raised in Los Lunas, New Mexico. I have lived in Las Vegas for 39 years. As I attended New Mexico Highlands I played volleyball. I have 11 years’ experience as a Head Start Teacher. I formally worked for the West Las Vegas District in the Developmentally Delayed Program (DDP) for 8 years; I also worked as a floater for one year and I had a Home Day Care for 12 years. Also belong to Alpha Delta Kappa (ADK), which is a group of teachers (retired and teachers). We help the community with scholarships, food baskets, etc..

I currently possess a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Human Performance and Sport, an Associate of Arts in Secondary Education; both from New Mexico Highlands University, a second Associate of Arts in Early Childhood Multicultural Education from Luna Community College. As your child’s Teacher I will encourage children to build confidence, social skills, ask questions, explore, respect one another, and kindness. Your child is encouraged to learn a verity of skills through play base learning experiences. As each child is unique in their own way, they will learn through developmentally appropriate activities. My goal is to have a safe physical environment for growth and development through exploration and learning. I look forward to working with your child as well as the family.
