ERSEA Specialist/Pregnant Moms
Miranda Vigil

My name is Miranda Vigil. I have been working with the West Las Vegas Head Start/Early Head Start since October 2016. I first became interested in working with children through subbing throughout the West Las Vegas District. I found myself eager to work with the younger children and decided to make a change in my life for my family and me, and I decided to go back to school to earn an Early Childhood Degree. I earned my Associates's in Early Childhood from Luna Community College in 2016 and a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education from New Mexico Highlands University in 2020.
In my time here, I have had opportunities to advance in my career. I was a teacher for six years in Early Head Start. I then became the Early Head Start Education Specialist and Pregnant Mom Program for a year. I am currently the ERSEA Specialist and am excited to see what this new job brings.
I was a student at Head Start and a parent of Head Start students, and I believe in the impact and influence of the program because I have witnessed it firsthand. I encourage all parents to register their children in the program. I love working with my infants/toddlers and their families and look forward to many more years here.
